EES Registration Not Mandatory Non-EU Citizens with Long-Stay Visas

September 19, 2024

The Director of the port of Normandy in France, Jérôme Chauvet, has recently shared an update about the New Entry & Exit – EES registration. He has shared that the non-EU citizens who have a valid long-stay visa will not be needed to register themselves under the Entry Exit System which will become effective soon. While speaking for the Connexion, Chauvet shared the update about the Entry Exit system for non-EU citizens who will apply for France Schengen visa for long stays.

Can I pass through the border without waiting in the queue?

Well, this has not been decided as of yet. According to Chauvet, the decision regarding queues for non-EU citizens with long visas and other queues is still pending and needs to be discussed by the relevant authorities.

However, Chauvet has noted that everyone will need to come into one queue from where they will have to undergo the registration process.

But this will not apply to the non-EU citizens with the long-stay visas!

Chauvet has also shared that the Normandy ports that will cover Dieppe, Cherbourg and Caen-Ouistreham will primarily use tablets for registering foreigners who will be using car for their travel.

So, if you are planning to get a France Visa from UK, then make sure to apply for it in advance and keep in mind the new regulations of the Entry & Exit System.
