Being a UK resident of any nationality (except Australia, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, US), you are required to apply for Spain Schengen visa UK.

Categories of Spain Schengen visa

Depending on your stay duration and purpose of your visit, visa types differ!

Short stay visa: A permit that allows the holder to travel throughout Spain for up to 90 days.

Document Requirements For Spain Visa Application

  • Valid Passport and BRP (UK residence permit): Issued within the last 10 years and valid for more than three months after departure. Passport must have two blank pages!
  • Recent Photograph: Two recent photographs of passport size.
  • Accommodation Proof: Confirmed hotel booking, hostel reservation or rental agreement, showcasing the entire details of stay in Spain.
  • Travel medical insurance (mandatory*): Minimum coverage of EUR 30,000 is required for medical emergencies during the stay. It must be accepted by all the countries within the Schengen zone. In case of Multiple entry visa, the insurance must be valid for the first planned entry.
  • Travel itinerary & Cover Letter: A letter stating your purpose of visit in Spain and the whole travel plan.
  • Transportation Proof: Confirmed flight tickets/ Train tickets/ Driving license/ Vehicle registration number.
  • Financial statements: Bank statements of the last three months showcasing the sufficient balance during your stay.

*** As per the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Spain, you are required to show sufficient means of subsistence to obtain a Spain visa from the UK.

  • € 70.77 per day for longer visits.

  • MOA & AOA in original certified copy/ Trade license/ Partnership or Proprietorship documents
Medical purpose:
  • Medical attestation from doctor or hospital in Spain
  • Medical report
  • Receipt of medical fees
Members of official delegation:
  • Purpose of visit
  • Official invitation along with identity proof
  • Duration of stay and place of accommodation
Film crew/ Cultural/ Religious purpose:
  • Details of crew members
  • Duration of stay
  • Invitation letter from concerned authority

Research/ Studies/ Internship/ Training purpose:

  • Carrying each document on the day of Spain visa appointment is necessary. Missing even a single document can lead to visa rejection! So, arrange wisely!

In case your visa has been rejected, you can appeal against the decision at the consulate General of Spain in London from Monday – Tuesday between 9:30 A.M. – 2:30 P.M.

No. The visa centre does not prepare visa applications, but accepts the applications in adhering to the instructions set by the Spanish Consulate General in Edinburgh.

Due to the strict requirements it is not possible to extend the validity. But if you need to extend it you must have a strong legitimate reason.
